Derek H. Maughan joined the Firm in May of 2001. Mr. Maughan has been a registered patent attorney since 2002. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Idaho and the Federal District of Idaho.

Mr. Maughan received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from the Microbiology Department of Brigham Young University in 1995, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Idaho in 2001. Mr. Maughan has five years of experience working in clinical diagnostic laboratories and is experienced in hematological, immunological, chemical and biological sciences as well as mechanical arts.

Mr. Maughan has worked in patent and trademark prosecution, patent drafting, trademark, patent, and copyright preparation, and litigation relating to copyright and patent infringement suits. Mr. Maughan also speaks fluent Spanish.
